🦫 At Vakantiepark Eiland van Maurik you can discover beaver tracks in many places, especially along the water. Beavers truly love the water!

Beavers do a lot of work underground…
These remarkable builders create tunnels in the ground and riverbanks, also called burrows or lodges, often leading to a dry nesting chamber. This is where beavers rest, hide and raise their young. All these tunnels together are called a lodge.

Gnawed trees…
With their strong teeth, beavers fell trees and drag the wood to the right spot. Using mud and grass, they build solid structures that hold back the water and raise the water level.

Beavers and building dams…
Using branches, mud and stones, these remarkable builders create dams in the water. This keeps the water calm and deep, allowing them to live safely, transport food easily and stay protected from predators.
